Purpose

Why We Make Totes the Way We Do.

Introduction

Introduction

Every tote tells a story — of fabric rescued, tradition revived, and women empowered. At Karachi Tote Company, we create one-of-one sustainable tote bags made from salvaged canvas, denim, and cotton. We rescue materials that would otherwise be burned or sent to landfills — and turn them into handcrafted, functional bags that matter.

Our Materials

Our Materials

From Waste to Wearable — Reclaimed with Intention. We work with leftover fabrics from garment factories, curtain suppliers, tailors, and homes. Some pieces were collected by our founder over decades, waiting for the right purpose. Whether it's sturdy canvas or handprinted cotton scraps, we upcycle every piece into something functional, beautiful, and uniquely yours.

No two totes are ever exactly alike. That’s not a flaw — it’s a feature.

Handcrafted, Always

No Assembly Lines. No Replicas. Just Real Hands. Every tote is made slowly, stitched carefully by artisans — mainly women — working from their homes. We believe in ethical fashion that honors time, tradition, and human skill. Each bag is finished at our studio in Karachi, where the founder herself ensures the quality matches our values. Because they're not mass-produced.

Low-Impact Process

Low-Impact Process

Energy-Light. Soul-Heavy. Our tote bags are sewn on vintage machines, powered by human hands and, wherever possible, sunlight. We minimize electricity use, favor daylight work, and often rely on solar power. Our blockprints use organic, non-toxic dyes — good for your skin, and better for the planet.

Empowering Women

Uplifting Women, Uplifting Communities

We work directly with women artisans who stitch from home — creating space for income, dignity, and flexibility. A share of profits goes back into our artisan network. In the future, we aim to build an internal support fund to help with education and healthcare. Every tote helps build that dream.
